ICT Day 2

Match 1 v Bedfordshire.
We had a cunning plan…. and it failed...They were better than we thought!.. Although some very close games didn’t go our way including an agonising 3 setter for Matthew and Marcus.. ending 19-17, 17-19 in the last 2 ends. Lucy and Rosie played a great doubles, and Jack and Lorcan won through in their doubles. Joint 'Man’ of the match though goes to Jack at number 1 singles who played brilliantly to win in 3, and Libbi and Bethan who came back from losing the 2nd end to 1 (yes to 1!) to win in the 3rd 15-12.

Match 2 v Northern Ireland
I’ll start how I usually end… ‘Man’ of the match … all the boys! They basically out played the opposition.  Matthew and Lorcan beat their number 1 and 2 comfortably in the singles and Marcus and Jack came through in the 3rd to win their Doubles. Robert and Lucy only narrowly missed out in their mixed.losing in the 3rd 16-14. The girls though struggled against a very strong opposition and we clocked up another loss.

Match 3 v Lincolnshire
The good news is our boys continued their run of singles wins, winning 5 out of the 6 mens singles today. This time it was Marcus and Jack’s turn. The bad news is we still lost…! ‘Men’ of the match again….sorry

In other news…
Bethan is still soldiering on with her enormous blister. Libbi is going to be better than most of her opponents when she reaches their age! Matthew and Marcus any minute now will win one of their ridiculously close 3 setter doubles games, we still have to concede 2 games each match because Bethan entered this world a couple of weeks earlier than we would have liked…and we have washed the shirts… so at least they won’t smell tomorrow.
