U12s played Devon away at Teign School yesterday and returned another 20-0 result, securing our first SWCBA league victory of the 2019-2020 season.
We again tried some new pairings for this match and everyone adapted extremely well - most notably we saw some great communication, mentoring and tactical discussions when the going got a little tight. It was really great to see our young players start to problem solve and identify what was working well/not so well in games and most importantly figure out what they wanted to change independently.
Many thanks to Pradeep Earla for team managing and support.
Extra special mention goes to Shreyasi (Shreya) Pai in her county debut. Shreyasi arrived at her first ever county trial at the Olympiad yesterday and bravely stepped in to replace an injured team member at the eleventh hour. She put in an amazing performance to win all her games in just 2 ends and was a fantastic, positive addition to the team. Many thanks go to Shreyasi for taking on the challenge in such great spirits and to Sanjay and Pooja for your flexibility, support and getting her to us so quickly!
It has been a real pleasure watching this team grow and develop over this season; we have bounced back from a tough opener against Berkshire and put in some solid performances with growth and intelligence – I really can’t wait to see what next season has in store.
Fantastic season U12s!
